Among the most affected sectors, economically speaking, the Third Sector stands out , which is made up of non-profit associations, organizations and foundations that seek to create and implement initiatives that benefit people and communities. Companies and private actors usually support it financially, but the slowdown in the economy reduced their contributions.
Faced with this panorama, in which there were more needs and aid was scarce, some altruistic institutions continued to operate despite the adversities, and today they are in a gradual recovery, such was the case of Fundación Cinépolis (FC)—philanthropic arm of the emblematic cinema chain.
To explain how the Foundation is currently working, at Expok, our director, Edgar López had the opportunity to talk with Ramón Ramírez, president of FC and director of Public Relations of Cinépolis .

«Fundación Cinépolis, as the altruistic sister of Cinépolis, shared what the business was experiencing. and as our programs depended heavily on the operation of Cinépolis, they were put on hold ."

Despite this obstacle, Fundación Cinépolis did not stop committing to people, especially in the field of visual health, so although its results were decimated, it did not put aside its work in Del Amor Nace la Vista , a program that with the opening of cinemas and the arrival of the new normal, is regaining its momentum.
From Love Sight is Born
According to INEGI data, in 2020 there were more than 2 million 200 thousand people in Mexico with some vision problem , which shows that this problem is not a minor issue, which is why, for 15 years, the Cinépolis Foundation—along with other allies — has been concerned and occupied with the issue, through the Del Amor Nace la Sight initiative , which aims to improve the visual health of low-income people who suffer from cataract blindness and generate a culture of prevention of this condition.
