General Information
Name: Ishiko Miharu (Ishimaru Kathryn)
Nickname: Kat, Kitty
Age: 19
Orientation: Heterosexual
Appearance:
(This is the closest to accurate I could find for an image. Kat's hair is similar, being long and brown. Her eyes are hazel; usually, they are different hues of brown with flecks of green, but when upset or ill, her eyes can be as vivid a green as the picture's. Curvy, short, and not as slender or fit as the other females at the base, her figure is rather unique to what you would expect from an "assassin.")
Height: 5 foot 1 and 3/4 inches.
Clothing preference: When it comes to clothes, Kat's style changes on a frequent basis. Really, she'll wear anything she finds in her closet that appeals to her that day (or anything that her partner in crime, Rina, forces her to try on). Most of her closet's contents include blouses, shirts with unique designs and shapes, sweaters, trench coats, and comfortable pants or skirts. She likes unique or pretty-looking things, but when push comes to shove, she will typically choose comfort over style. When it comes to shoes, she has a great preference toward boots, but occasionally, will wear dress shoes. She finds sneakers troublesome, considering they take so long to put on. She always wears a ring that she was given for her sixteenth birthday on her right hand. She has glasses, but only wears them when it is absolutely necessary.
Special markings: Two piercings on the left ear, scar on the back of her right ear
Weapon: None
Ability: The ability to use sheer mental power in order to create the illusion of physical damage to her opponent. Before the skill is perfected, it can only work in times of complete desperation, feeding off of adrenaline. Even when worked on, the ability's affects are only temporary. The victim may see and feel, for example, their arm break or a huge, bloody gash form in their leg. Truly, their bodies are unaffected.
Specialty in combat: Use of Special Ability.
Role in organization: Assassin ("Secret Weapon")

History
Short background:
Miharu lived a relatively average childhood, barring the fact that she was raised by a single mother. Her parents' divorce had been nothing traumatic for her, considering she had no recollection of her father's living with them. Truthfully, Miharu spent most of her childhood living at her grandmother's house. She loved her grandmother dearly, but the only thing that her grandmother noticed in her was her failures and flaws, always comparing her to her older cousin, Masato: an actual genius.
Miharu looked up to Masato, even without being reminded of her inferiority to him. He was always very kind to his younger cousin, treating her more like a little sister than anything. The two spent countless hours together, playing video games or going to the movies. Like her cousin, she developed a great interest in academics and schoolwork, but was never quite athletic. Instead, she took a great interest in the performing arts, taking lessons in things such as singing and dancing all while maintaining exceptional grades.
Once she entered middle school, Miharu attended the same school her cousin had graduated from--a high-level college preparatory school that contained both middle school-age children and the high school children, known as prep schoolers. This school challenged her greatly, so she had to drop a great deal of extracurricular activities at first. Before attending this school, Miharu had managed to attend dance classes, voice lessons, karate, auditions for plays held by local theatre companies, and practices for church choir.
One thing that didn't change with her new school: her closest friends. Through her many extracurricular, Miharu met many people, though she only became significantly close to two or three. One of those people was Chikae. When the two first met, they were very young, taking swimming lessons together. The young girl would have never guessed how much her new friend would influence her destiny. Their friendship solidified as they ended up taking dance lessons together by chance. Even after Miharu stopped dancing due to schoolwork, she kept in close contact with Chikae.
Of course, happiness was not the only feature of Miharu's life. With her hand of happiness came quite a deal of sorrow. Her grandmother's picking became worse as the years went on and eventually, the young girl was diagnosed with clinical depression. Through all the hardship, Chikae remained her strong supporter.
Eventually, despite all the obstacles, Miharu graduated. She enrolled in college as well, planning on double majoring in musical theatre and creative writing. Everything was seeming to fall into place as she was beginning her life as an adult. One night, however, everything took a traumatic turn. It was summer, so she was living back at home with her mother. She had been out to dinner with members of her close family, namely her aunt, mother, and grandmother. The three women began to subtly pick on her. At first, she was able to tolerate it, but soon, her tolerance wore down. Her irritability began to show through the tears pricking at her eyes, threatening to escape.
By the time she got home, she packed her clothing and precious items into a bag, checking herself into a hotel before calling Chikae. Considering her friend also had deep-rooted issues with her family, she instantly understood, saying that she would pack her bag as well and meet Miharu in her hotel room. The two would take a small vacation together. Chikae told Miharu about a festival she had read about taking place a few towns over, and the girls were instantly excited.
Wearing traditional kimonos that they picked out especially for this unique occasion, the two strolled along, eating various foods that were for sale and buying a few items here or there. Eventually, in a corner that had very few people, they stumbled upon a poorly-constructed hut that read "Madame Katrina: fortune telling." Intrigued, the two girls wandered in.
Their encounter with the psychic was bizarre, including her muttering something about "incomprehensible power" and the fact that they'd "come of age" and would "realize their strength before the next sunrise." Walking away more confused than when they had entered, they were approached by a smiling woman with dark, curly hair. She ushered them into a tea house, where she more specifically explained what Madame Katrina had alluded to. She urged them to join the Sasayaita Namida--an organization created for people with unique powers--if for no other reason than their own safety.
"There are many people who seek to kill people as strong as us," she said solemnly. "You girls have too much to give this world to be thrust out of it at a young age."
This frightened the duo greatly. They were only teenagers, after all. Somehow, they felt deep down that this was to be their destiny. Joining hands under the table, they accepted her offer. Raven changed their names, in order to protect them and their families. Paying homage to the wise old Madame Katrina, she dubbed Miharu as Kat (short for Kathryn) and Chikae as Rina.
At first, it was hard to imagine leaving her family entirely and never returning. Though, she figured that her aunt and uncle had her cousin. She would try and keep in touch with Masato, if she ever found a way. She felt especially bad about leaving her mother behind, but knew that with strength from her significant other, Shinichi, she would also make it through alright. As another caution to protect her family, she changed the second character of her surname, transforming from Ishiko Miharu into Ishimaru Kathryn.
Kat was afraid, entering an organization as a "new assassin." She had never been good at things such as running or sports, considering she was asthmatic. However, Raven taught her more about her special ability, which after some training, she excelled in using. Rina was the same way. The two somehow became Sasayaita Namida's "secret weapons."
Personality:
Kat does not tend to enjoy troubling others, but when push comes to shove, she's an open book. For a good friend, it would not take all that much prying to get her to spill exactly what is on her mind. Such is why Rina has an exceptionally easy time reading her friend's emotions. Most of the time, Kat and Rina are seen together. When with her friend, Kat finds herself being all the more happy and personable.
She does not mind speaking up when she thinks something is wrong. Frankly, she will speak up even if she thinks something is boring or pointless. Not only does Kat like to entertain others, but she prefers to be entertained herself. Even when she appears to be sitting idly, she is most likely daydreaming or coming up with stories in her mind. Though she may be physically sedentary at times, she is always mentally or creatively active.
Even though the front she puts up is very outspoken and loud, on the inside, she is still rather insecure. She will joke with others about how she is nowhere near as fit as she needs to be in order to be a half decent assassin, but when no one is looking, she will be on the ground of her room doing crunches, standing by the mirror lifting weights as she practices singing, or even attending a physically draining dance class.
Despite her history of being frequently sad, she grew up to be a fun-loving person, deeply enjoying laughing and smiling. Her background in theatre makes her extremely personable, willing to talk to mostly anyone if caught in the right mood. Of course, when she's in an off mood, she will not hesitate before ignoring everyone and keeping to herself.

Outside, it was pouring rain. Considering the sound of the softly purring thunder was a welcome melody and the unstable weather put going outside and physically training out of the question, she did not mind the downpour in the least. A soft sigh of pure contentment escaped her as she briefly stretched her arms. Pulling her legs into an Indian-style position, she placed her notebook on her lap, hunching over the blank page.
Picking up a number two pencil with a relatively dull tip, she contemplatively pressed the eraser to her lip. What to write, what to write..? It was not long before she was staring intently at the page, as if it may produce a work of literary genius on it's own. Without even realizing it, she began humming the tune of a song she liked.
Stopping mid-hum, she sat up. Looking over at her reflection in the mirror, she frowned disapprovingly at herself. "Geez! How do you expect to write anything with a song stuck in your head?" she scolded herself, pointing her pencil dramatically at herself. "Baka!"
Plopping onto her back, she stretched her legs out, her notebook sliding off to her side. A small groan escaped her. What was she supposed to do now? A bright idea hit her. She went back to humming her melody, running the song through from start to finish. Much to her displeasure, even after she finished it, it was still ingrained in her mind.
Disappointed in her lack of fruit, she slung her legs off of the bed, planting her feet into the floor and raising herself into a standing position. Her abandoned notebook fell off the side of her bed in this sudden motion. Not bothering to pick it up, she left the room, closing the door behind her. Perhaps there was something to do downstairs. If not, she could at least go to the kitchen and scavenge for something to eat.
