History
Short background:
Anju grew up for the majority of her life in a toy shop owned previously by her grandfather before her mother took over. She was accustomed to running around the shop and testing out all the toys before they were placed on the shelves and thus grew up quite spoiled. Her grandfather especially spoiled her; often taking her in the back of the shop and creating one-of-a-kind toys for his young granddaughter.
Anju's father, however, disliked how much his father-in-law spoiled his daughter, and hired baby sitters to watch her during the day whilst he was out on his police shifts and her mother was running the store.
Although she had numerous baby sitters hired to watch her as a child, they'd never offer to return to sit her. Her father, assuming that it was a result bad behavior, often reprimanded her harshly. Anju's mother would often come home to her daughter covered in small bruises, and a few weeks of it occuring, took Anju with her and moved out to live with her father.
Anju was much happier in her new living arrangement and was allowed free-range of the shop on days when her grandfather would take her down. He continued spending time with her in the back, showing her how to assemble multiple types of toys.
Life went along happily for Anju until one day, her childhood friend, Mari, fell into a deep ravine by her house and broke her neck. Nobu, sadden by Anju's heartbreak spent hours in the back of the shop painstakingly crafting a doll in the likes of his granddaughter's friend.
Anju was pleased with her new gift, and carried it around everywhere; taking it along with her to trips to the ravine and the cemetery where Mari was buried. However, within a few weeks of her acquired doll, she discovered something abnormal about it.
It seemed that every day, it grew more and more realistic; its rough wooden shell becoming more soft and skin-like whilst its hair, originally made of out fine wax fibers, was beginning to take on a more human-like quality. Then, one day, a soft giggle emerged from the doll's fixed lips that bared a haunting resemblance to Mari's laugh.
Anju, bewildered by what was taking place, took the doll back to her grandfather to question him about it. His placid reaction wasn't what she was expecting, but she figured it was better than if he was terrified. He simply told her she gained an amazing ability passed down generation to generation along the Ibuka bloodline.
The doll continued to grow more and more in the likeness of Mari, and Anju begun to take comfort in her friend's presence. When Mari begun speaking through the doll, Anju found it to be just like she was alive again, and was content in gaining her once lost friend.
Upon a usual stroll with her beloved doll, Mari spoke up once more. "Ne, have you ever considered that assassination group--what was it called--Sasayaita Namida? I've heard a few people talking about it; seems like you'd be useful to it. Why not try it out?"
Ever since then, taking her friend's suggestion, Anju found herself apprenticing with veteran assassins.
Personality:
Anju is extremely mature for her age, and it's often displayed by the context of her speech upon responding to people. She has a rather deadpan form of sarcasm, which often leaves people guessing whether she's joking with them or simply mocking them. Although she keeps to herself most of the time, she isn't afraid to bluntly express her feelings to someone. She isn't one to start a conversation, but she's willing to hold one if addressed.
Despite seeming to be self-centered, she honestly cares for people who become close to her. Once she considers herself a friend to someone, she'll discreetly go out of her way to help them out; although she's against people helping her out. She's rather independent.

"Ah, Anju-sama, do you really know where you're going?" A quiet voice rang out above the still of the darkness.
"No, Bugi; I'm going to wander around aimlessly for two hours," the young girl retorted in a blank tone, shifting her beloved doll to her other arm. Her turquoise eyes scanned the expanse of the forest, looking for the dirt path she was set out to look for.
"You don't seem like you know where the path is," the doll cautiously declared. He knew to guard his tongue with Anju. Although she didn't necessarily have a temper, she didn't take kindly to criticism and one slip-up could mean he was going to be abandoned in the forest with no way to escape.
Her footfalls echoed loudly in the eeriness of the wooded area, adding to the suspense of her reaction. "Bugi," she began smoothly, her tone not giving any insight to her emotions. "Be quiet. Your rambling is annoying."
The cobalt-haired doll shut his mouth reluctantly. He knew it was in his best interest to obey his master. After all, due to her ability, she was able to bring him back to life unintentionally.
At first, he was against it. How had an immature little runt manage to summon an infamous serial killer by 'accident' as she claimed? And even if she was determined to bring him back to life, why did she choose to seal him within the case of a doll? Wouldn't it have been easier to just allow him to stay as a human?
It wasn't until later that he realized it really was unintentional. The deceased just seemed to be drawn to her, and if she happened to have a vacant body, such as the countless dolls she collected, their spirits would come to life as her toys. She wasn't searching to harness the power of the dead, they were searching for her.
And after a while, Bugi really didn't mind accompanying her. She wasn't as immature as he first assumed, and they actually had fun together. He felt that the more time they spent together, the closer they grew. And coming from a troubled past, it was a nice relief that he could befriend someone who wasn't concerned about his mental stability.
The two walked in silence until the flaxen haired girl stumbled upon the barely noticeable dirt pavement that would highlight the course she was to take. "See, I told you I'd find it." She muttered, offering a slight smirk.
