His footfalls fell heavy until his feet planted themselves on the sidewalk, refusing to budge. He had been wandering around aimlessly for what seemed like hours, clutching a small note in his right hand. Drawing his hand toward his face, he examined the crumbled paper once more. The chicken scratch on the paper seemed to give him just as much trouble as the actual address that was supposedly written on it.
"Ah, how the hell am I supposed to this old geezer?" Jin questioned aloud. Turning the paper over in his hands, he shrugged. Leader-sama was just going to have to run his errands on his own. After all, Jin was terrible at finding locations without a map. Who did the leader think he was? A freakin' magician? Was he supposed to magically appear in front of the business partner's apartment?
With an aggravated huff, he blew his bangs out of his face. Upon doing so, his eyes followed the motion of his hair and caught glimpse of a brightly colored sign. "Cafe Blossom?" He muttered, testing how the eatery's name rolled off his tongue. Yep, it sounded just as lame and girly aloud as it did in his mind.Stuffing his note in his pocket, he turned leave.
A dramatic sigh rose from his lips as his legs protested to move another step forward. "Well, hell, now I guess I have to go in," he complained. With a tired roll from his neck, he lazily forced himself to enter the cafe.
Upon entering, he was greeted by a cute-faced waitress cosplaying in a maid's outfit who referred to him as "master". Considering he was a guy, he probably should've been aroused by the maids or something like that, but he found being called "master" by another human being more appealing than the maids themselves. After all, where could he boss people around like his servants? No where!
After being directed to a table near the window, he leaned back and kicked up his feet--literally. He received some dirty glares from resting his feet on the table, but they didn't faze him. He had a justified reason. He had been walking around so much, he couldn't allow any more blood to flow to his feet unless he wanted them to swell to the size of car tires.
"Ah, shove it," he retorted once his eyes met the disapproving gaze of an elderly man seated a few tables away. "You wish you could still move your legs like this." After a moment of mockingly wiggling his legs, he reclined back in his chair and brought his hat over his face. For now, he was going to rest.... until his root-beer float arrived.

Happiness bubbled through her in a chillingly uplifting way. She had heard about this place through an online article she happened upon the previous night. The short description had enticed her immediately. Being a huge otaku for the majority of her life, the idea of a maid cafe was something so awesome, it seemed too good to be true. When she noticed the address of Cafe Blossom, her heart nearly leaped out of her chest. "Machi Village? That's like, the closest town to base!" she had exclaimed aloud to herself, earning a troubled look from Rina until she finished explaining. Although her friend had seemed equally excited, their luck was minimal. Rina had a scheduled training session for the next day. Her friend seemed fine about letting her go on her own, but to Kat, it just was not the same. She had hoped that the two of them could explore it together.
Regardless, she had already begun to make her way to Machi. The little town seemed as peaceful as ever. It was hard to believe that an organization of assassins was tucked away in the forest so nearby. It didn't really bother Kat, of course. Though she did not look or act like a predator in the least, she was a member of Sasayaita Namida. The back story to why someone like her would be in a house of killers was long and complicated, but living at the base barely changed her personality. She was still as eccentric and musical as ever.
Walking alone like this, she always found herself thinking strange things. This time, she was thinking about her current predicament of walking into a cosplay cafe on her own. What would the employees think of her? Would they think that she was some kind of a creepy pervert who wanted to stare at women in maid dresses? "I'm straight, I promise!," she imagined fuming as the waitresses gave her troubled looks. She paused for a moment, letting out a sigh. "I really need to stop thinking," she concluded silently, deciding to mentally focus on something else.
With techno music running through her head, she walked like she was on a mission. It took a conscious effort for her to not make light dance-like movements along to the techno rave that was going on in her mind. Either way, she soon found herself in front of her desired destination, a grin of sheer excitement sliding across her lips. Although she had imagined herself dramatically pushing her way through both doors at the same time, she settled for being normal and simply pushing open the door that seemed more frequently used.
"Welcome, Milady!" cooed a woman dressed up just like the ones in the advertisement she had seen. She couldn't help but let out a small giggle, saying a quick, heartfelt "Thanks!" before she realized that it was part of the waitress's job to welcome her like that and she really did not have to offer any gratitude.
The woman led her to a table set for two people. For a moment, Kat felt pathetic. She hated going new places on her own. It was a lonely endeavor. Perhaps she should have just waited until the next day and found someone to go with her. She considered getting up and leaving, but at that very moment, a menu was placed in front of her. There was no escaping now.

"Here's your root-beer float, Master. Can I get anything else for you?"Jin's hand groggily rose from it's previous position of dangling beside him to shift his hat from his face back onto his head. "Nah, not yet," he muttered, anchoring his feet to the ground. Although it was uncomfortable repositioning himself, he knew it'd be even more deadly trying to drink how he was previously situated.
Reaching over, he pulled his beverage toward him. It was odd not seeing a root-beer float in a mug, but inside a frilly container that was shaped like it was meant to hold simple milkshakes instead. "Tch, I bet I look macho," he muttered, leaning over to take a sip.
As he did so, he must've misjudged the distance between his chest and the table, as the table wobbled, somehow gaining the force to send his float onto his lap. With a shriek (that would better fit a young girl than a man of his age), he lept to his feet. His shirt and pants were beginning to cling to him in ways that no clothes should cling.
He could almost feel the eyes of all the customers veer toward him. Then again, Jin had a habit of demanding attention no matter where he went or what he did. This time, he just happened to make a complete ass of himself.
"Dammit," he muttered, pulling his shirt away from his skin. If it wasn't for the fact that he was soaked in areas he never wished to get drenched by beverages, he would've been more upset about losing his root beer float. After all, he rarely had money to spend on such a luxury item. But then again, he also had to come up with a story to explain the disappearance of the leader's money.
Pulling the brim of his hat down lower to eclipse his eyes, he walked over to a table nearest to him. Peering down at the girl from under his hat, he cleared his throat. "Hey, uh, karma's a bitch. Can you lend me some napkins?"

It felt like her head was being ripped open, but she did not dare turn around. From the sounds of it, a little girl had dropped her something-or-other and was deeply upset by it. As much as she would like to help that poor little girl, she knew that soon, she would probably hear the scolding of her embarrassed parents--something she would definitely not be willing to get herself involved in. Parents were a pain--she knew that as well as anyone else--but she also knew that outsiders who meddled in a scolding session between mother and child were in for an earful directed at them.
Barely a second passed after the shriek before a maid showed up at her table. Even though she managed to still keep a warming smile and refer to her as "Milady" upon taking her order, the poor woman seemed worn down. Perhaps she was the one who had to tend to the table with the kid who screamed. Considering how close the noise was to her, she was sure that the child was only a table or so away from her, so it was a definite possibility.
Giving the maid a grin that was mixed with sympathy and joy that being in such a unique cafe brought her. She placed an order for a cold mango drink that claimed to have lychee jellies at the bottom. With a bow and a more genuine smile, the maid was off. The grin remained spread across Kat's lips as well. She enjoyed the knowledge that she helped someone else feel slightly better about being in a less than favorable situation.
As soon as the maid left her, she heard the sound of someone clearing their throat. She looked up to see a man who looked like his shirt and lap had tasted more of his beverage than his mouth had.
"Hey, uh, karma's a bitch. Can you lend me some napkins?"
Her jaw nearly dropped, grin slowly slipping away as she had the realization of knowing this mystery man. Well, she did not "know" him, per-say, but she had definitely seen him around. The hat. The dog tags. The reputation for being out of his mind. There was no doubt in her mind that this guy was a member of Sasayaita Namida. Considering his current state, he was probably the one who had let out the blood-curdling yelp she had just heard.
The shock of seeing a member by chance anywhere but base gave her a childish thrill. It was similar to the feeling of an elementary school student seeing their teacher outside of school. Although logic obviously stated that the person was allowed to go other places than their typical location, her mind told her that people just did not have lives other than living at base, give or take a few missions to go out and cut people's lives away.
"Sure thing," she said after a long pause of staring at the figure whose name she had never learned. Reaching forward, she grabbed one of the extra napkins that had been set for her, extending it toward him. Her lips were plastered with a smile, but a hidden droplet of sweat was sliding slowly down the back of her head.

Jin stared on curiously as the woman’s grin faltered upon seeing him. Was he really that horrendous? Or was she really that oblivious to his sex appeal? After all, he didn’t expect everyone in the human population to be able to handle his beautiful looks. He was just on a whole other level than everyone else, was all.
After sharing what seemed to be a brief staring contest, a realization hit him. He knew the woman sitting before him. Well, maybe he didn’t know her, know her, but he saw her around. He had often seen her wandering around the Sasayaita Namida base, often times with her blond-haired accomplice. The duo was sort of a big deal in the organization for one reason or another. All the same, it was odd seeing one without the other.
After a prolonged pause, the other member spoke up, grabbing one of the extra napkins that had been placed out for her. “Sure thing,”
Grabbing the wrist of the hand she extended, Jin leaned in closer to her, scrutinizing her for a short moment. “Ah, what the hell’s your name?” he questioned aloud. He was normally good with names, but for some reason or another, hers slipped his mind for the moment. He definitely knew who she was, just not what she was called.
After a few seconds of mentally arguing with himself, he seemed to reach a conclusion. “Wait, you’re that Cat girl, aren’t you? But not the actual one that walks around in cosplay,” he muttered once his brain seemed to finally wrap around her name. He often got her confused with another member who seemed to always be wearing cat ears and a tail. In his mind, they were both cats.
“I’m the beautifully stunning, Jin, in case you were wondering,” he stated, pushing the rim of his hat up with his free hand to expose his eyes. He was often badgered by Leader-sama to make eye contact during introductions, so he thought he might as well do it once in order to shut him up.
“Thank you for your generosity,” he sang, letting go of her wrist and taking the napkin. Judging the size of the napkin to the stain on his clothes, he knew it wasn’t going to miraculously clean the mess up, but he figured it was better than letting his damp clothes cling to him without any attempt to dry them. He was just thankful he had at least some mean to tend to his accident.
After a futile attempt of patting his clothes dry, Jin crumbled the napkin and laid it down on the edge of the woman’s table. “Hey,” he began, pulling the chair opposite of her out with his foot. “How ‘bout I repay you for your generosity by gracing you with my presence?” He was one hell of a guy, after all.

In her mind, this would be a simple scenario. He would take the napkin, thank her, and be on his way back to his table. Instead, she felt his hand enclose around her wrist. "Eh?" she let out in surprise. What was this all about? Was he trying to mock her? Scare her?"Well guess what, buddy?" she thought in slight irritation to herself, "You're barking up the wrong--"
“Ah, what the hell’s your name?”
Her bitter train of thought was cut off by his statement. Smiling to the point that her eyes were closed, she gave a sheepish laugh in slight embarrassment. So he did realize that she was, too, a member of Sasayaita. Maybe he wasn't as out of it as the others had informed her. Now that she thought of it, it was kind of foolish of her to base an opinion of someone entirely off of rumors. It was like the nun who taught her math in fourth grade--all the upperclassmen had warned her how mean and strict she was, but at the end of the day, the old nun ended up being her favorite teacher. For all she knew, this guy would end up being one of her favorite people at the base.
“Wait, you’re that Cat girl, aren’t you? But not the actual one that walks around in cosplay,”
Before his stream of consciousness cut her off again, she gave a hearty nod. "Yeah," she chimed. "I'm Kat."
He probably thought that her name was spelled with a 'C,' but she would much rather let him think that she was eccentric, being named after her favorite animal. Telling people that her "name" was "Kathryn" would be too difficult and unlikely for her. Since she took on this new name, she had never told a single person that Kat was supposed to be short for something.
“I’m the beautifully stunning, Jin, in case you were wondering,”
A light giggle bubbled up and escaped her before she could even consider the possibility that he was being serious. There was no way he could be for real, right? She looked at him, grin still lighting her cheeks. Well, sure, he was handsome, but for him to call himself "beautifully stunning," that was pushing things over the top just a bit. As he tipped his hat back, she looked at his eyes. "It's so hard to tell when pretty people are joking or being serious," she whined in her mind.
"It's good to finally meet you then," she finally piped up. After all--it was good to know the name of the others at base. Considering she was a relatively social person, she knew quite a few of the assassins. Getting to know another one would only benefit her in the long run. After seeming confident in the fact that he knew who she was, he released her wrist, taking the napkin while singing a few words of thanks.
“Hey,”
Tilting her head to the side, she responded with a simple "Hm?" Her eyes lit with curiosity as he seized the chair across from her with his foot. For a moment, she thought of what would happen if she tried to do such a cool-looking maneuver. Undoubtedly, the chair would have fallen and made a horrible, loud noise.
“How ‘bout I repay you for your generosity by gracing you with my presence?”
"Sure thing," she agreed with a nod and a smile. Sure, she didn't know who Jin was. Sure, she once again couldn't tell if his statement was meant to be taken seriously or as a joke. Sure, she would probably end up feeling bad enjoying her drink in front of him, so she would end up putting out her own hard-to-come-by money for his sake. At the same time, all of these possibilities seemed to easily beat the idea of sitting at a cafe alone, most likely radiating a pathetic aura. Lazily extending her hand palm-up in a subtle presenting motion, she said "Take a seat."

""Yeah, I'm Kat."
He had to hand it to himself; he was a pretty amazing guy. He knew her name without even conversing with her before. That’s what he called a true champion. He almost had a knack for it; like he was a physic or something, but with names.
A soft bubble escaped from Cat’s lips. So she already thought he was hilarious. Smirking a bit, he decided that he may learn to like her. After all, she seemed to quickly notice his sense of humor that could easily put a veteran comedian to shame. He appreciated the fact that she acknowledged his brilliancy.
“It’s good to finally meet you, then.”
Jin was floating on Cloud Nine. When did he become such a legend at base? She must’ve obviously heard wonderful stories about him so much that she couldn’t wait to experience his presence. Who knew he’d be able to become so popular so quickly? Was he really that much of an amazing, heart-throb wonder? Ha, of course he was!
“Sure thing. Take a seat.”
He watched as she extended her hand, palm-side up, gesturing him to help himself to the chair. Giving her a light high-five, he took his seat. It was obvious she couldn’t resist his stunning good looks. Beside, who wouldn’t want to be seen out in public with him? He had to be one of the top five hotties in the world, obviously. He was doing her more of a favor than intruding.
“So Cat,” he began. “How’d you break out of the Big House?” He knew it was incredibly difficult to go out and see the light of day on times other than a mission; well, at least that’s how it was for him. Leader-sama had a habit of keeping the base filled to the brim with assassins. He rarely let more than two pairs leave for missions at the same time.
Resisting the urge to kick up his feet onto the table again, Jin simply reclined back in his chair. He hated sitting all prim and proper. After all, he didn’t fail etiquette class in high school for nothing. He found it pointless and boring. Who cared about being polite and crap; especially with his career? Was he supposed to be the civilized assassin? “Oh, excuse me ma’am. Don’t mind me; I’m just going to slit your throat.”?
Shaking his head slightly, he drew his attention back to Cat. So this was one of the organization’s “secret weapons”. Raising an eyebrow, he scrutinized her. Normally, he would’ve thought a secret weapon would be more…intimidating, kickass-looking, but instead, she was rather cute and innocent looking. “So you mean to tell me,” He began, leaning his elbows on his table, “you’re our organization’s Ace?”

When he slapped her hand in a gentle high-five, she couldn't help but giggle. This guy was a lot easier to get along with than the other members seemed to let on. She honestly did not see a problem with him. Did they not appreciate how fun he seemed to be to hang around with? Well, there was always the little fact that he was probably a seasoned killer, but wasn't everyone (with exception of her, Rina, and Danny)?
Hypocritical views in general were never something she really admired, but for a murderer to call another killer crazy was pushing things just a bit too far, if she did say so herself. For example, she knew very well that she was her own special sort of crazy. No one in the organization avoided her. Did they simply find Jin to be a threat? Perhaps he was a talented assassin. Truthfully, she did not know much about him at all.
“So Cat, How’d you break out of the Big House?”
A knowing smirk slipped across her lips. Yes, Leader-sama did tend to be a bit of a prick when it came to letting members do as they wish. She couldn't entirely blame him, being the head of a house filled with people who used assault and murder as a pass time before they were reigned in by the Sasayaita. As usual, Kain didn't seem too concerned when she expressed wishing to go out to a Cosplay cafe. Kat was one of the few members of Sasayaita who had led a relatively normal life before being sought out by him and his wife. Kain knew very well that he did not have to worry about her going on a murderous rampage.
"Eh. I just used my undeniable charm," she said with a playful wink, letting out a laugh. She often joked about that kind of thing, but she was fairly certain that it was obvious she was only kidding.
“So you mean to tell me you’re our organization’s Ace?”
Tossing her hair over her shoulder, she struck a semi-dramatic pose. Chin tilted slightly down and eyebrow arched in a ways she thought to be mysterious, she let out a soft laugh. "That's what they call me," she said in a sing-song sort of way. Due to their strength in using their special abilities, Kat and Rina were dubbed as the organization's "secret weapons." The reason they were considered such rather than just being considered two more assassins: no one would expect either of them to be able to hurt a fly, let alone a human.
The next moment, the cute little maid of a waitress appeared, gently setting down the drink she ordered. Seeing Jin was now sitting at this table, she inconspicuously set down a small pile of napkins. He was still quite drenched from the drink accident he had back at his own table. From the looks of his clothes, he had managed to spill his entire glass of whatever-the-hell on himself. Gently, the maid took hold of the soaked napkin that Jin had earlier used in an attempted to dry himself off.
"Is there anything else I could get for Master or Milady?"
Kat looked at Jin, an eyebrow quirking upward. "As a thanks for joining me, I'll even offer to pay. Just don't go ordering the whole menu," she said in a half friendly, half warning tone, smile never fading.

"Eh, I just used my undeniable charm."
Jin smirked as she did a playful wink. It's true, she was quite pretty; the sort of bright-eyed innocent pretty that often got bad guys like him in trouble. The only thing that made her more attractive was her ability to see that. She obviously had confidence and women with confidence were the most attractive in Jin's eyes.
"That's what they call me." Watching as she tossed her hair over her shoulder and raised her eyebrow, Jin couldn't help but admire her. She was strong and confident. Hell, if he were born a girl, he'd probably be exactly like her--well, possibly a bit more kick-ass, but what could he say? Not everyone could be as awesome as he was; although she came pretty close.
"Well damn," he commented, propping his right elbow on the table and in turn, resting his cheek on his knuckle. "From the looks of it, it's definitely a secret." He wasn't meaning to come off rude, he was being truthful. After all, taking a glance a five foot chick definitely wouldn't shout "kick-ass assassin" to him. Not that he was sexist or anything, he just thought she looked softer than all the other well-seasoned assassins.
Out of the corner of his eye, Jin watched as a waitress set down an extra handful of napkins and retrieved his soaked napkin he had previously used in a fruitless attempt to dry himself off. It wasn't until the waitress did so, that he remembered he was still quite wet.
"Is there anything else I can get for Master or Milady?"
Jin glanced over at Cat as she quirked an eyebrow at him. "As a thanks for joining me, I'll even offer to pay. Just don't go ordering the whole menu,"
Allowing a chuckle to rise from his lips, held up his hand in an content gesture. "Nah thanks, I don't allow ladies to treat me, even if I am incredibly gorgeous." With a wink, he slid a plastic card across the table to the waitress. "Just give me another root-beer float and whatever this lady is ordering," he paused, gesturing to Cat. "Just put it on the card."
Leaning back on his chair, Jin allowed a smug smirk to cross his lips. He knew rooting around in the conference room would pay off eventually, and it finally did when he found Leader-sama's wallet. Who knew the head of an infamous group of assassins would accidentally leave his credit cards laying around?

"Well damn,"
Yet again, a small, satisfied giggle bubbled up from her throat. Some people may have found her incessant laughter annoying or obnoxious, but it really was all meant in good spirits. Kat was just the kind of person who enjoyed smiling and laughing. Laughter, in her opinion, made everything more enjoyable and memorable. Not only that, but in her opinion, his reaction earned a laugh. As the time passed, she was truly growing to appreciate his company. If she couldn't have Rina with her today, at least she could share her happiness with someone else rather than sit alone and look pathetic.
"From the looks of it, it's definitely a secret."
"Well, most people don't expect to be hurt by a five-foot-one-and-three-quarters singer," she said with a dismissive shrug, smile never fading in the least. It was true, after all. She certainly didn't radiate "killer." She was new to this world of spies and assassins, but she could hold her ground, thanks to her ability.
There were plenty of downsides to being essentially useless in battle other than ability use. For one thing, her power was based entirely on mental strength. Thanks to training and her history in rigorous academics, she had a fairly remarkable control on her powers. However, if she had to rely on them too heavily, she would have a killer headache for days. Sometimes, it would be enough to keep her on bed rest. She had gotten one or two migraines in the past, but even that sort of pain could not hold a candle to the pain of these mind-shattering headaches.
"Nah thanks, I don't allow ladies to treat me, even if I am incredibly gorgeous."
Giving a shrug, she was about to say something along the lines of "suit yourself," but the sound of thin plastic slapping the table cut her off. Amused, she watched as he slid a credit card toward the waitress, who somehow managed to stay in character the entire time.
"Just give me another root-beer float and whatever this lady is ordering. Just put it on the card."
The waitress nodded before turning toward Kat, anticipating an order. She thought about it for a moment. She hadn't really planned on ordering anything but her drink, but hey. If this guy was willing to put his money on the line, she would be happy to accept the offer. It wasn't like she had money to be blowing. "Just an order of dango," she said thoughtfully, grinning at the waitress who bowed her head once more before walking away. This place supposedly had some of the best sweets around, so she would be more than happy to confirm this reputation for herself. She turned her gaze back to Jin, grin spreading so far as to cause her to close her eyes. "Thanks," she chimed, tilting her head to the side out of habit.
Remembering the newly placed drink in front of her, she opened her eyes to examine the product. The glass looked like it had been in the freezer. It was a clever tactic in order to keep the beverage cool longer without utilizing ice cubes. With thoughtful fingers, she opened the straw that accompanied her beverage. Once she removed the plastic wrapper, she turned it over in her fingers. It was a particularly wide straw--probably for the purpose of sucking up the jelly pieces that were at the bottom of the drink. She plunged it mercilessly into the pale orange-colored liquid.
She was careful about bringing the glass closer to her. She didn't want to end up like Jin, who was still thoroughly saturated in what she now guessed was at one time a root beer float. Lowering her mouth to the straw, she took a slow sip. Even though she knew that the little jellies were present in her drink, it was still a surprise to feel a solid rush into her mouth along with the liquids. Thoughtfully chewing, she noted how well the lychee and mango went together. The beverage was sweet, but not sickeningly sweet. It was perfect. Pulling herself away from the straw, she gave an approving smile. Yes, she would have to come back to Cafe Blossom in the near future.
Suddenly, she had the thought that it might be considered rude to just chug down her drink in front of Jin, who was now waiting for his order to be brought out. Biting gently on the inside of her cheek, she combed her brain for a conversation topic.
"So..." she mused, drawing the word out as she thought of what to ask, "Come here often?" she finished, sheepishly laughing at how lame she sounded. Was that really the best she could do?

Jin reclined back as Cat giggled, a soft smirk playing on his lips. With each passing moment, he was beginning to like her more and more. After all, it wasn’t often that he found people who appreciated his sense of humor; although he couldn’t understand why. He was a genius when it came to hilarity.
“Well, most people don’t expect to be hurt by five-foot-one-and-three-quarters singer.”
He sat erect as soon as he saw her mouth form the word “singer”. There was no doubt in his mind that she was one of the greatest people to ever walk the earth—well, beside him, of course. Slamming his hands down on the table in an excited manner, his eyes intently honed in on her. “Do you like karaoke?” He questioned eagerly.
For as long as he could remember, he had an undying love for karaoke. Even with the shittiest of days, he couldn’t pass up a round or two of karaoke. It was relaxing, and he had a pretty damn good voice if he would say so himself. He often thought of himself doing others favors when he sang a round. After all, it wasn’t every day people could be graced with the voice of an angel.
After Cat ordered her dumplings, she turned to him, tilting her head as she said her thanks. Jin reclined back in his chair once again. “Ah, don’t thank me,” he murmured smoothly, adjusting the visor of his hat. “Thank Leader-sama once you see him.”
Grinning a bit, he imagined Kain frantically searching around the base for his credit cards, only to realize that two of his assassins had taken it out for a treat. He envisioned seeing the cobalt eyes of his leader remain unfazed, yet the vein on his neck bulging from the threat of a heart attack. After all, Kain was quite frugal when it came to funds—although Jin didn’t see why he needed to be so economical when they could just steal—so when his money was used on unnecessary splurges, he was quick to flare.
Jin watched as Cat unwrapped her straw and plunged it into her beverage. It seemed to dawn on her after a while that she was the only one who was drinking and spoke up. “So…come here often?”
He allowed a quiet chuckle to escape his lips as he mentally applauded her attempt of a conversation starter. He honestly hadn't minded. “That depends if you do,” he replied, offering a flirtatious wink before reclining back in his seat again. In a way, he was serious. Hell, if she showed up at the cafe, he wouldn't mind dropping his dignity as a man for a few hours to meet up with her. After all, she was rather interesting.

“Do you like karaoke?”
"Uh, yes!" she exclaimed, smiling from ear to ear. Of course she liked karaoke! Singing was her first love, after all. She took voice lessons from the age of five, stopping only when she was forced to abandon her former life and join the Sasayaita Namida. Since then, her big plans to attempt to make it to the Broadway stage were extinguished. It was a hard realization at first, but she knew that this lifestyle would keep her and Rina safe, so she didn't mind it too terribly. All she could manage to do now was sing to herself when alone or with Rina. She suppressed her former desires for fame by going to karaoke bars now and then.
Well, this guy seemed pretty awesome just for conversation's sake, but the possibility that he might enjoy singing made him all the better. Personally, when it came to standards of men, one of the qualities she looked for was a good voice. Jin already was an attractive person and easy to talk to slash joke around with, so if he could sing, he was pretty much a secret knight in shining armor.
“Ah, don’t thank me. Thank Leader-sama once you see him.”
Eyes widening, she let out a gentle "Ha!" Leaning back in her chair, she softly clapped her hands together. "That deserves a round of applause," she explained. Stealing the leader's credit card? That had to be a difficult task. Well, unless the leader of Sasayaita was secretly a careless person who left his wallet laying around. Regardless, it took serious balls for Jin to even think of swiping his credit card, let alone use it. She knew that if Kain did find out, he wouldn't necessarily freak out. After all, their entire order wouldn't total up to be overly expensive. It would just piss him off that someone would have the nerve to snatch his card.
“That depends if you do,”
Lips coiling into a smirk, she rested her elbows on the table, intertwining her fingers to create a cradle for her chin. "To be honest, this is my first time here," she admitted, shrugging her right shoulder simultaneously tilting her head to momentarily meet with her raised shoulder. It was true. Cafe Blossom was just something she had happened to see online. "Though, I rather like it here, so I'm bound to come back," she added.
She definitely wanted to show this place to Rina. She could tell that her friend would be as intrigued by the waitresses in maid garb as she was. The two would probably joke around, saying something about how there should be some attractive butlers on the waitstaff or that they should apply for side jobs there. After all--they weren't assigned too many missions, so in turn, they never had much pocket money.
Besides taking Rina to show her a real-live cosplay cafe, if Jin was willing, she would definitely want to meet up with him more often. Despite the warnings of him being crazy, she just saw a joking, fun-loving guy who apparently liked to sing. Of course, it would be cool to see him around the base more often. Maybe now that she knew him, she would notice his presence more often. She tended to be oblivious to people that surrounded her if she didn't really know them.
The waitress came back, smiling as cheerfully as ever, asking her if her beverage was to her liking. These chicks really did take their characters to heart. Kat was impressed. Before leaving, she set a new root beer float in front of Jin, placed the order of dango in the center of the table, and said something along the lines of "please enjoy" while bowing.
"Feel free to help yourself to some of the dango," she encouraged Jin. She would feel bad eating alone. She always had something against eating in front of people she wasn't entirely familiar with. "And try not to miss your mouth with your drink this time," she said, winking before adding more playfully, "Don't want you wandering off to some other lucky girl's table."

"Uh, yes!"
Jin's grin spread as she expressed her love for karaoke. Finally! An assassin who didn't have their head stuck up their ass. It seemed as if he was the only one at base who found karaoke enjoyable beside the slim handful of the immature assassins. At last he could relate to someone who was almost as wonderful as he was.
"Ha! That deserves a round of applause,"
He watched as she leaned back in her chair, clasping her hands together. Had it been any of the other assassins, he would've been scolded and reprimanded, yet she seemed genuinely impressed. She obviously appreciated the fact that he had nerves of steal the leader's credit card. "Ah, thank you, thank you," he sung, bowing dramatically in his seat. "Please, please, you're making me blush!" He proceeded to wave his hand to fan off his cheek.
"To be honest, it's my first time here,"
"Ah, join the club, Hun," he crooned. After all, his appearance inside the cafe was just a twist of fate. If his feet didn't protest at every step he tried to take, he wouldn't have even took a second glance at the place. But then again, he was thankful his feet were a pair of whimps. If it wasn't for them, he wouldn't have met the slightly less wonderful female version of him.
"Though, I rather like it here, so I'm bound to come back."
Adjusting the visor on his hat, he allowed a solemn nod of his head. "Tell me when you find yourself in this neighborhood. I might take you out for another treat on the leader," he commented, winking. After all, he was sure if he was able to obtain the credit card once, he'd be able to do it a second time.
The waitress returned, bringing with her Cat's order of dango and Jin's replacement root-beer float. Upon her department, Cat spoke up. "Feel free to help yourself to some of the dango."
Raising his hands in protest, he shook his head. "Nah, just ate before I came," he muttered, drawing his float closer to him. Well, if you considered half a bag of chips eating, but it's just how he was. He wasn't big on eating. A small meal could sustain him for more than a couple hours.
"And try not to miss your mouth with your drink this time."
Her taunting reminded him of the sticky wetness that invaded his clothing. He didn't plan on allowing another drink to jump into his lap. Any added stickiness would most likely prevent him from ever moving again and quite frankly, he liked being the free spirit he was.
"Don't want you wandering off to some other lucky girl's table."
A smirk crept along his face as he took a quick sip of his float. "Ah, there's enough of me to go around," he replied, stretching his arms out to demonstrate his point. "Although, I'd rather stay right where I am," he added, returning her wink with one of his own.

"Ah, thank you, thank you. Please, please, you're making me blush!"
His playful bowing and sing-song tone of voice made her laugh all the more. She had never expected to enjoy this afternoon quite so much, seeing as she had embarked on a journey entirely alone. Any day where she was forced to leave Rina behind seemed like it would just turn out so much less entertaining. Happening upon Jin was a total coincidence, but it was a lucky coincidence indeed. For all she knew, this was a popular hang-out for him and she just happened to catch him on an off day where he dumped soda and ice cream all over his lap.
"Ah, join the club, Hun,"
Well, okay. Her theory of him being a regular was now crushed, but that just made their encounter all the more exciting. "It seems like fate brought us to meet, then," she mused with a smirk. Once again, it was obvious that she was kidding around. But in all actuality, she knew that if it had not been for him approaching her today, she would have continued to just go on believing the rumors that he was a total nutcase and avoid him at all costs when around the base. Her "never judge a book by it's cover" theory was holding up. Well, in this case, she supposed that a better saying would be "never judge a movie by the reviews it receives." After all--some of the best movies she had ever gone to see were those that received crappy reviews.
"Tell me when you find yourself in this neighborhood. I might take you out for another treat on the leader,"
"Sounds like a plan to me," she sang. "It shouldn't be hard to stay in contact, living in the same house and all," she pointed out. She was sure that if they tried, they could very easily stay in contact on a more frequent basis. That is, if he was enjoying her company as much as she was his. Maybe she was just being her typical, annoying self? "No, no..." she reminded herself sternly, "That's just the inferiority complex talking. This is your new life, Kat. No more downing on yourself all hardcore like that."
No matter how confident she was able to appear on the outside, it seemed like she couldn't shake the traces of insecurity that liked to sneak up on her at the least appropriate times. She was actually enjoying herself, having a back and forth humor match with this guy who had apparently lived with her since her entire name had undergone it's transformation. She was supposed to be the butterfly that emerged from the cocoon of her former self. If all the world truly was a stage, Kat was a fine example of a character to be played.
"Nah, just ate before I came,"
His comment, of course, was regarding the offer she had made to share her dango with him. She let out a soft "tsk," before cooing a drug out "Suit yourself." She would still feel incredibly uncomfortable eating in front of him. "Maybe I should take it home for Rina, then," she mused aloud, looking at the sweets in front of her. The two girls had a history of polishing off entire bags of potato chips together, devouring half-gallons of ice cream shortly after. Finishing off a few sticks of dango together? They wouldn't even break a sweat.
"Ah, there's enough of me to go around,"
A chuckle swept over her once more, this time soft and breathy. His comment was refreshingly confident after her inner bought of self-loathing. Perhaps hanging around Jin more often would be healthy for her mental status. Even if he was joking, he still oozed with confidence. She envied that, but tried to become a sponge, feeding off that confidence and applying it to herself.
"Although, I'd rather stay right where I am,"
After his wink, a grin spread across her lips. So he was enjoying her company after all. That was a huge relief for her. Happily, she leaned forward and took a sip out of her bubble tea. After finishing her sip, letting the mango's flavor tickle her tongue, she chimed "I'm certainly glad to hear that."

“It seems like fate brought us to meet, then.”
In a way, she was right. What were the chances that he’d stop inside a chick-attracting café, anyway? They were incredibly slim. However, he still found his way into the eatery and found himself sitting with her, although he was given a table by himself. Although he could argue his original table had a better view of the streets thanks to the large display windows, he didn’t mind the view he had of her. After all, she was quite the looker.
"Ah, I'd consider it more so destiny," he corrected with a wink. He didn't know if destiny and fate could be interchangeable, all he knew is that it sounded a whole lot more flirtatious his way than hers.
“Sounds like a plan to me,”
He grinned at her reply. Normally, people stayed away from him, something about him being a mental case or something. Sure he didn’t have the clearest head on his shoulders, but then again, who did? He was definitely not insane. If he was truly insane, people would’ve done more than avoid him and stick him in an organization of killers. Instead, he’d be sent away in a white coat to be locked in a comfortable cell. But then again, he was sure he wouldn’t mind either way. Sleeping all day and being dressed in a color he could pull off like a model? Bring it on.
“It shouldn’t be hard to stay in contact, living in the same house and all,”
Ah yes, that was right. They resided in the same household. He often noticed her running around the base every once in a while, usually with a slightly shorter, blond haired girl tagging along. Although they never seemed to go on a lot of missions, Leader-sama always seemed to treat them a little fairer than all the other assassins. It wasn’t until later on that Jin discovered the duo were the “secret weapons” of the organization. He should’ve known that was why they were treated specially.
In a way, Jin wondered why their abilities were that dubbed them as secret weapons. For all he knew, he could easily compete with them. But then again, they probably had to be pretty spectacular to be considered special in a group of elite assassins.
"I've seen you around," he admitted with a nod. Then again, it seemed like Cat and her partner tended to sprawl across the whole base. In a way, they were everywhere all at the same time. It was pretty hard to miss the duo even if you tried.
“Suit yourself,”
He shrugged, drawing a sip from his float. He really didn’t feel the need to eat. As long as he had his root-beer float, he was content. Hopefully, he wouldn’t spill it again.
“Maybe I should take it home for Rina, then,”
“Ah, your little blond shadow?” He questioned, recalling the smaller girl Cat was often seen hanging around with. Actually, he couldn’t remember a time where he didn’t see the two together. If he didn’t know any better, he would’ve guessed they were joined by the hip or something. In a way, it was cute that they were such good friends, but he couldn’t imagine being followed around by someone everywhere he went. How the hell did they go to the bathroom?
“I’m certainly glad to hear that.”
A soft grin spread across his lips reclined back, resting his elbows on the head of his chair. “Don’t get too attached, I’m a bit insane” he warned jokingly. He was sure any other members of the base would’ve agreed, but Cat seemed to find him more hysterical than mentally ill. “Lunatics are dangerous,” he concluded, giving her a slight wink before returning back to his drink.
